First School A Grand Success!

Mayor and Community Embrace Event

The School of O! was created to educate our frontline employees on how to promote local attractions for visitors arriving to Omaha. What we found, however, is that we tapped into other people’s passion for the city, as we not only saw attendees from hotels and visitor centers, but also from banks, retail shops, restaurants, legal firms and corporations.

The School of O! participants were excited to receive so much comprehensive information from all of the presenters and we immediately heard ideas of how the information would be used. One such idea is this fabulous website with downloadable PDF files that contain current information from various sources.

Moving forward, our goal is to plan the The School of O! for both the Spring and Fall, not only as an integral part of training for employees working in the hospitality industry, but also to further educate anyone who is passionate about our city.

Looking for Ambassadors of Omaha!

Educational sessions will dispel the myth that there's nothing to do in this city!

Omaha is a city on the move - with attractions and events that draw thousands of visitors every month. Because we want to share our enthusiasm with these visitors about what our city has to offer, members of the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI), organized The School of O!.

During The School of O!, representatives from a wide array of local attractions give brief informational presentations to attendees. As a result, attendees gain more knowledge of what is happening in the Omaha metro and are able to relay that information to visitors they encounter.

The School of O! is outstanding non-credit educational training for:
